Double Your Donation: Last chance in 2017 to help us get justice for Dalbir Singh and other families left behind

Dear Supporter,

When you look into the face of a family member who’s lost a relative to state violence, it's impossible to know their pain. Dalbir Singh described the brutality his family experienced over 26 years ago to Ensaaf when police stripped naked, tortured, and killed his wife, two sons, mother, brother, sister-in-law, and his nephew’s wife on the same night. His family experienced police persecution for years afterwards causing continued trauma for the family. Dalbir Singh has been seeking answers and justice for too long. He told Ensaaf he hopes for a truth commission; he said, "We no longer fear persecution". Ensaaf will be representing his voice and many others like it before governments, the UN, and the media to build consensus among the international community and support for survivors. We need your involvement to bring about this change.

2018 will be the year we transform our work

Ensaaf has been working diligently to document these atrocities. We’ve been to more than 12,000 villages, reaching every village and urban area in Punjab. We’ve progressed to the next phase of our documentation project and started building an interactive data visualization site to store all of the information, and get that information out to the public and government officials throughout the world. The evidence we present will shift the debate from one of denial to acknowledging crimes against humanity in Punjab and strengthening future legal proceedings.

Today we’re asking you to make an end of year donation. Every dollar you give, up to $40,000, will be matched through January 10th.

Your support can change the ending to Dalbir Singh’s story and for so many other families. Hear Dalbir Singh; help him get justice.

Sincerely,

Sukhman and Jaskaran,
Ensaaf Co-Founders
