Double Your Donation Today: Help Build a Video Testimony Library

(Pleasanton, CA)

Thirteen years ago in April, inspired by the legacy of human rights defender Jaswant Singh Khalra, we launched Ensaaf to end impunity and achieve justice for the survivors and victims of the Decade of Disappearances in Punjab. Over a period of five years, we visited each of Punjab’s 12,000 villages and numerous urban areas to document thousands of cases of disappearances and unlawful killings. We are now preparing for the next major initiative: the Virtual Site of Conscience (VSC). The VSC will establish the first virtual memorial dedicated to the victims and survivors of crimes against humanity in India. Among other exhibits, it will include interactive data visualizations, documentary films and a video testimonials archive, and an extensive portrait gallery of images of survivors and artifacts.

Today, Ensaaf launches a $10K in 10 Days Matching Campaign, and asks you to help us build the Video Testimony Library for the Virtual Site of Conscience. As part of our documentation project--the largest initiative in the history of India to document cases of disappearances and unlawful killings in Punjab--Ensaaf video-interviewed select families from each district. Ensaaf is creating a searchable, tagged video archive of 200 survivor testimonies. In order to finalize the next 10 videos, we need to raise $20,000. Become a powerful voice for truth and justice by funding this unique and tangible project.

Generous donors, like the Dhillon Law Group, will match your donations dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000 for the next 10 days. Each family has trusted us with their story to make their voices reach the international community. Please donate today to make our matching campaign a success. Thank you for your generous support and commitment to human rights!
