Appear for the Disappeared 5K Walk

(Pleasanton, CA)

We are pleased to announce that registration is now open for our second annual 5K fundraising walk, Appear for the Disappeared 2014. The walk will take place on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Lake Elizabeth, Central Park, Fremont, CA. Walk locally or walk virtually, and commemorate a specific individual who was disappeared in Punjab by Indian security forces during the Decade of Disappearances (1984-1995).

At our first Appear for the Disappeared Walk members of the community remembered 51-year old Ajmer Singh, 20-year old Gurmej Singh, and 16-year old Balbir Singh, among others. We hope you will join us again this year to pay tribute to the disappeared. Help us reach our goal of commemorating 500 victims of disappearances.

Help us reach our goal of commemorating 500 victims of disappearances.

Please register, set a fundraising goal, and create your own fundraising page to help raise funds to support our project to document every disappearance and unlawful killing in Punjab. We have reached 6,000 villages, but need to reach 6,000 more.

Each person who walks will receive a short bio of a victim of disappearance. If you can't join us in Fremont, please register and walk in your area. We will keep you updated with information about walks happening in London and other areas of the world.
