Give
By investing in Ensaaf, you are supporting innovative projects to end impunity and achieve justice in India. We make every dollar count and your support will contribute directly to documentation projects, legal cases, and organizing survivors.
There are many ways to give to Ensaaf:
1. Donate Money
Ensaaf is a 501(c)(3) organization and donations are tax-exempt to the extent allowed by law. We’ve made it easy to donate online with a credit card.
Or, you can send checks to: P.O. Box 594, Fremont, CA 94537.
Ensaaf is also eligible for matching donations. Ensaaf is currently enrolled at Bank of America, CA, International Monetary Fund, Juniper, Lehman Brothers, Genworth Financial, and Microsoft. Please contact Ensaaf to sign up for matching donations with your company.
2. Join a Funder Team
You can donate at any level to become part of the movement for truth, justice, and reparations:
- Advocate Team: Donate between $300 (or $25/month) to $1199 and receive our e-newsletter and updates, and emailed publications.
- Justice Team: Donate between $1200 (or $100/month) to $2499 and receive our e-newsletter and updates, and a free hard copy of all publications.
- Leadership Circle: Donate $2500 or more and receive our e-newsletter and updates, multiple free copies of all publications, and quarterly donor-briefings from a co-director.
3. Use GoodSearch.com or GoodShop.com
GoodSearch.com is a new Yahoo-powered search engine that donates half of its advertising revenue, about a penny per search, to the charities designated by its users. GoodShop.com is a new online shopping mall that donates up to 37 percent of each purchase to your favorite cause. Hundreds of stores including Amazon, Target, Gap, Best Buy, ebay, Macy's, and Barnes & Noble have teamed up with GoodShop.
4. Name Ensaaf in Your Will
A charitable bequest for Ensaaf may be included in your will when it is written or revised. You may also add a bequest through a codicil, a separate document consisting of an amendment to an existing will. All charitable bequests are fully deductible from your gross estate. Please consult an attorney to adapt the language to your individual circumstances.
5. Give Life Insurance
If you own a life insurance policy that is no longer needed for the protection of your family, you may use it to make a gift to Ensaaf. One option is to make Ensaaf both owner and irrevocable beneficiary of the policy, which would entitle you to an income tax deduction based on either the total value of the premiums paid, or the cash surrender value, whichever is less. An alternative is to name Ensaaf beneficiary of a policy you receive through your place of employment.
